BACK HOME AGAIN

I have now been home a week from my yearly visit to Venice.
Managed to avoid the Carnival crowds, although the streets were awash with confetti being remnants of the celebrations.
Did manage to get my feet, ankles, and knees wet, as the city had a very high tide on one day, making some parts of the city’s streets impassable for a time as the was a distinct lake of trestle walks
I have uploaded some pictures from the trip but there are many more to upload after I have manipulated them up a bit, making them suitable to inflict on the general public. I hope some of them will give you some kind of pleasure at least as much as I got from taking them.

I'M BACK

Well I'm back from my holiday of a life time being a month cruise around the Far East.
With well over a thousand pictures to edit or dispose of, I will be very busy until well after Christmas.
I hope there will be some images that tickle your taste buds, but will apologies in advance if there is not.
Although I was away for a month the places visited: China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand, were all of short duration so I cannot say that I really got to know the areas. And so I cant wait to return when I win the lottery.
In particular I would love to re-visit Vietnam. It is still unspoiled, but fear that it will go the way of Thailand with over development.

NATIONAL TRUST PHOTO COMPETITION

I have this week entered 3 of my pictures into the National Trust photo competition "TIME WELL SPENT". This relies on a public vote, so by way of this journal I thought I would do a bit of grovelling and try and secure your votes. You can register your votes at the links below, of course only vote if you think them worthy otherwise it would be unfair!!



This competition has now closed, unfortunately I was unsuccessful.

PLEASE ASK

I have noticed that a lot of photographers on this site try to tackle the nasty habit of having their work being used by unmentionable people on the net, without so much as a please or thank you. Apart from infringing ones copyright, this is a despicable practice and one that I am at a loss to see an answer too. Watermarks I think spoil the image, and they can be obliterated with a little work on Photoshop anyway.
All I say is that in the past I have given permission to numerous individuals and companies to use my work without payment, AFTER they have ASKED permission. So if you do like any of my deviations and wish to use them for your own use, all you have to do is ask permission. With most requests I grant permission, but ask you to PLEASE credit me, if and when they are used in the public domain.
